This November, Zoya Ilina presents her first solo exhibition, Moving in Translation, co-curated by Miriam Kanner (UCL) and Alisa Misrikhanova (Parsons Paris).
The exhibition explores how movement across cities — Moscow to Paris and Antwerp — shapes the artist’s vision and memory. Ilina’s quiet yet expressive paintings turn everyday spaces into personal maps of belonging and adaptation.
An opportunity to see Ilina’s London debut and discover the new generation of artists redefining contemporary figurative painting.
Born in Moscow, Zoya Ilina studied at the Moscow Central Art School and the Stroganov Academy of Industrial and Applied Art before relocating to Antwerp, where she is completing her BA in Visual Arts at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts.
Her multidisciplinary practice spans painting, sculpture, metalwork, textiles, and glass engraving. Ilina has exhibited internationally in Paris, Antwerp, and Moscow, with recent projects including engraved glass panels for the Royal Academy and a contribution to the Paris exhibition Why I Paint (2024).
