A charity screening of Channel 4's World's Toughest Journey - My African Adventure, raising funds for local Parkinson's groups.

Join us for an inspiring charity screening in support of local Parkinson’s groups.

Sit back and enjoy Channel 4’s World’s Toughest Journey – My African Adventure, the remarkable film inspired by Old Sherbornian Guy Deacon and his powerful book, Running on Empty.

The evening will feature a special talk from the film’s Director, Rob Hayward, who will share captivating stories from Africa, along with exclusive footage that didn’t make the final cut. Hear behind-the-scenes insights and enjoy some of the lighter, funnier moments experienced by Rob and Guy as they journeyed south along Africa’s West Coast.

Your ticket includes a welcome drink and canapés, making this a relaxed and memorable evening of film, conversation, and purpose.

All funds raised will support the Deacon Foundation, established to efficiently collect and distribute funds from the Running on Empty project to grassroots initiatives in the fight against Parkinson’s Disease. The Foundation is particularly focused on tackling the stigma surrounding the condition—ensuring that those affected are not isolated or forgotten.

Through grants that support education and awareness, the Foundation helps people living with Parkinson’s to be cared for, supported, and treated with dignity and respect—making everyday life more manageable and hopeful.

An unforgettable evening. An extraordinary journey. A vital cause.
