Featuring actor, writer and choreographer Mehdi Mashadi Kazemi and an ensemble of Royal Birmingham Conservatoire students performing new music by Juliana Niu.
This work unfolds over the course of forty minutes. 'WITHIN THE STATIC' explores escapism, through the combined powers of sound and physical theatre. There are cyclical patterns that eventually break and transform. This gives way to a performance of the tumultuous monologue: 'HIVE' written by Mehdi Mashadi Kazemi. This performance has been reshaped to the live music, that runs closely alongside it.
This is the final result of a collaborative partnership between actor and composer. We hope to stir the audience, and incite further thought through the expressionist nature of the work and the themes that are explored.
There is no interval, no escape.
(This event will take place in the Recital Hall, Floor 0, at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Doors close 5pm.)
