Learn how to ID trees and plants and how to read them and see what they are telling us

Want to become curious about plants, trees and the stories they tell?

Join us on your lunch break to learn about the urban green life all around you.

Come on this walk and learn to notice clues on how to ID trees, even in winter with no leaves, observe things that you have never noticed before, start making connections between locations and habitats.

See your neighbourhood in a totally different way. Learn some names of plants and trees along the way but more importantly learn to observe and recognise what's going on in the nature world and why. Start learning how to read trees.

Meet at Chunk Community Garden behind Chunk cafe for this circular walk, the perfect place for a coffee before or after the walk.

We'll be heading out in a different direction each time so each walk will be unique.

We'll be walking at a slow/medium speed around Burley, stopping for short periods over the hour to look at plants and trees. It could be that we go on uneven ground, please wear suitable footwear.

The specific plants and trees covered in the session will be based on those available on the route taken from the meeting point.

If popular, there is the possibility that this turns into a regular event as there is much to discover on our doorstep and it is interesting to view the same things in different seasons.

Please get in touch if you plan to come in a wheelchair or bring a pram and I can adapt the session accordingly.
