Join us for a day filled with ice fishing, snowshoe hiking, and more! All ages are welcome, though children must be accompanied by an adult.

Maine Outdoor Programs welcomes participants for a day filled with adventure and learning. This Outdoor Skills Day is intended to introduce you to some of the great winter activities available here in Maine. Join us at the Penobscot County Conservation Association (PCCA) for some exciting activities such as ice fishing, archery, snowshoe hiking, wildlife tracking, and more!

What to Expect:

Upon arrival participants will park at the front of the facility and check in at the gate for registration. From the gate, participants will be directed onto the property where signs will indicate where each station is located.

Join the skills building sessions that most interest you! Choose a morning session and an afternoon session:

  • Ice Fishing
  • Indoor Rifle Shooting (ages 10+)
  • Snowshoe Winter Forest Nature Hike and Wildlife Tracking (Bring your snowshoes!)
  • Indoor Archery
  • Indoor Introduction to Bowhunting

Lunch will be provided by PCCA (donations accepted). Pack hydration and don't forget the sunscreen! Our experienced instructors will provide support and encouragement, making the outdoors accessible and enjoyable for all. This event fosters a sense of community and connection, embracing learning in a safe and respectful atmosphere. Come discover the magic of the Maine outdoors and create lasting memories while building confidence in outdoor skills for your next adventure.

Please Note - There are no age restrictions to attend, but children must be accompanied by an adult. To participate in rifle shooting participants must be age 10 and up.

Please register every person who plans to attend.
