Where Art Lives—inside opera houses, jazz moments, gardens, homes, and community. Explore how art inhabits your everyday life.

Where Art Lives explores the spaces where art is performed, cultivated, collected, and quietly absorbed. All of this work is from my artful life and how & where I absorb fine art. From the grandeur of the Detroit Opera House to the intimacy of a jazz musician mid-improvisation, from gardens shaped by artists’ hands to homes filled with paintings, the work reflects on how art inhabits both monumental and everyday environments. Even the bathtub becomes a site of reflection — a private interior where creativity and contemplation quietly unfold.

This exhibition is especially resonant for MAC Gallery and my work because. Livernois is not simply a commercial strip; it is a living cultural artery. In that sense, it embodies the very question the exhibition asks: Where does art live?

Art lives in institutions.
Art lives in performance.
Art lives in cultivated landscapes.
Art lives in the rooms we decorate and the spaces we retreat to.
And importantly — art lives in community.

MAC Gallery serves as both a contemporary exhibition space and a neighborhood anchor. The show invites viewers to think about creating, absorbing, experiencing and

collecting fine arts.
