Wesley Gonzalez comes to The Old Church on Stoke Newington Church Street to perform songs from his 3 solo albums as well as debuting new material on nylon string guitar accompanied by multi-instrumentalist Callum Duffy.
Gonzalez first became known with the band Let's Wrestle, releasing 3 critically acclaimed records and touring internationally before embarking on a solo career. The three solo albums released since have been varied in style and process, but throughout his career, Wesley has focused on melodic songwriting underpinned by lyrics exploring mental health, addiction, depravity, and the underlying feeling that everyone you meet will think you are scum. Gaining praise from the music press and great support from BBC 6Music's Riley & Coe and Lauren Laverne, as well as tours and shows supporting the likes of BC Camplight, Warmduscher, Young Knives, Mozart Estate, and Jessica Pratt.
