Mixed media paintings blurring the lines between realism and abstraction.
Caroline Lumb is an artist based in Devon, UK. Her practice focuses on blurring the boundaries between realism and abstraction. Caroline creates work that captures the essence of the subject. She works by sketching in the studio and outside, developing ideas, bringing them back inside and working towards finished pieces.
'My focus is on colour, new explorations and mixed media, at the same time I strive to combine traditional techniques with contemporary approaches and materials to create one-of-a-kind artworks. I hope that my art is accessible to everyone and creates interest for you the viewer.'
Rosie’s work is a vibrant exploration of light, life, and the interplay between humanity and the environment. Her portfolio spans two primary themes: the figure and the landscape, with additional fleeting moments of inspiration often sparking new creations. A recurring motif in her work is the helicoidal spiral—echoing forms found in DNA, shells, surf, and clouds—infusing her compositions with universal and natural patterns.
Rosie’s work often explores water, skies, and the human form, there’s a distinct dichotomy in style and intention between her landscape and figurative pieces. Prolific in her practice, Rosie has built a large portfolio, a selection of which can be seen on her website. She lives and works in Bideford, North Devon, England, supplementing art sales with teaching and running art workshops from her studios ROSIE AND RED ART AND LEATHER
Rosie’s art reflects on our relationship with the environment. She is keen to use her work as a voice for envoronmental concern - PLASTIC BEACH is an expanding body of work, now moving up the estuary to consider the fragility of our waterways and need for protection, investment and elimination of destructive pollution - she is an Artivist, an environmentalist and humanitarian. Her seascapes, landscapes and sky-scapes celebrate her wonder of the natural world: VIDEO LINK
