Join us at the Printed Word Bookstore for a conversation with Virginia young adult and middle grade authors as they discuss craft, writing specifically for Black youth, and how their Virginia roots impact their work. The conversation will feature Lamar Giles (Star Wars: Sanctuary, Ruin Road, Static: Up All Night), Pamela N. Harris (Through Our Teeth, This Town Is On Fire, When You Look Like Us), and Nashae Jones (As You Wish, Courtesy of Cupid) with local author Ravynn K. Stringfield (Love in 280 Characters or Less, Love Requires Chocolate) moderating. This event will be open to all ages, but we hope to gear some questions toward advice for young writers (readers) hoping to explore careers in writing.
The conversation will include time for audience Q&A followed by author signings and more one-on-one conversations. Select titles from the authors’ catalogues will be available for sale on site.
