Valentine's Wood & Epoxy "Heart-cuterie" Board

In this class SPECIAL Valentine's edition class, students will make their very own wooden and epoxy "Mini River" Table that can be used as a serving board, charcuterie board, or as a wonderful display piece of custom art. Students will learn how to sand, and treat the wood and options on how to make a live edge. Students will learn how to use templates to cut out shapes in the wood to create hearts in the board. Students will then learn how to properly seal the mold that will be provided for the class followed by clamping their wooden pieces securely to the mold. Then the real fun stuff begins, students will mix up their own deep pour epoxy and choose from the many colors of pigment provided in the class. Students will pour epoxy into the molds and learn proper technics on controlling bubbles. After the epoxy has cured and hardened, our instructor will then surface the boards to a thickness of around 3/4" thick. Students will be able to come and pick up their boards and finish them at home or they will have the option of paying a $35 classroom fee to come and finish their boards in the classroom on another date that works best for them.
