Learn AI prompt engineering techniques to boost your schoolwork —hands-on and fun!

Age Group: 10 - 16 Years Old

This hands-on workshop teaches prompt engineering as a core thinking skill. Students learn how to give clear instructions, set goals and constraints, and refine their prompts to get better results.

Led by Felicia Tan, Human–AI interaction PhD researcher from NYU, the class shows students how prompt engineering directly shapes what AI produces. Students learn to test, evaluate, and improve AI responses through iteration.

Using simple frameworks and guided practice, students use prompt engineering to support learning, creativity, and problem-solving—

What Students gain

  • Clear, structured communication through prompt design
  • Strong learning habits when using AI for schoolwork
  • Critical evaluation of AI outputs, not blind acceptance
  • Confidence using AI creatively and responsibly

This class helps students build prompt-first habits early, so AI responds to their thinking rather than replaces it.
