The lifecycle of plastic causes harm to our health and the environment. Black women are overexposed to plastics and toxic chemicals in their built environment, in beauty, and in fashion. The fashion sector is filled with plastic-based clothing materials and synthetic dyes filled with toxic chemicals. At Black Women for Wellness we will be showcasing sustainable fashion that uplifts the beauty of Black people and is culturally rooted. Join Black Women for Wellness for a fashion show focused on the rich history of indigo textile dyeing and the importance of centering Afro-Indigenous practices in sustainable fashion.
