A landmark evening of classical music, featuring three captivating and contrasting piano concertos by Mozart, Chopin and McCabe.

PROGRAMME

W. A. Mozart (1756-1791)| Piano Concerto No. 27 in B♭ major, K. 595

John McCabe (1939-2015) | Concertino for Piano Duet and Orchestra

Frédéric Chopin (1810-1849) | Piano Concerto No. 2 in f minor, Op. 21

Mozart's final piano concerto is one of his most intimate and luminous works. McCabe's concertino for piano duet and orchestra was commissioned by the 1969 Farnham Festival, and is dedicated to Christopher Latham and the orchestra of Frensham Heights School. The concert will be a rare and thrilling opportunity to hear this striking work. Chopin's deeply lyrical second concerto is rich with poetry and one of the most beloved works in the piano repertoire. This concert will include an interval of 15 minutes between the McCabe and Chopin. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will be available from the bar during this time.
