RWA Adoption: Real or Experimental? Join a candid debate with Marketnode’s Chris Chien at Tokenization Salon.

About the Tokenization Salon

A space to think clearly about tokenization.

The Tokenization Salon brings together curious minds from across finance — Web2, Web3, and everything in between — to make sense of how tokenization is transforming the financial world.

After our first session, “Web2 → Web3 Mapped,” we’re back for our second edition.

This Session

🗓 Do Real-World Assets Actually Have Product-Market Fit — or Are We Still Forcing the Abstraction?

Real-world asset (RWA) tokenization has moved quickly from theory to live products.

TVL numbers are growing. Major institutions are experimenting. Infrastructure is maturing.

But a harder question remains largely unexamined:

Are RWAs genuinely solving user problems — or are we projecting narratives onto early adoption signals?

At this Salon, we’ll open up an honest, grounded discussion around:

  • Whether RWAs have found real product-market fit — and for whom
  • How much current adoption reflects user pull vs distribution power and relationships
  • Which asset classes (if any) show sustained, organic demand
  • Whether tokenization is being applied where it truly adds value — or where it’s simply easiest
  • How crypto-native abstractions (e.g. perps, vaults, synthetic exposure) compare to “wrapped” real-world assets
  • What success for RWAs would actually look like over the next few years

Featured Guest: Chris Chien of Market Node

Chris Chien works at the intersection of traditional capital markets and digital asset infrastructure.

He is currently Ecosystem Manager at Marketnode — a capital markets platform backed by HSBC, SGX Group and Temasek — where he works closely with financial institutions exploring what tokenization looks like beyond pilots and headlines.

Chris began his career in private banking at J.P. Morgan, giving him early exposure to how serious capital is allocated, protected and grown. He later moved into fintech and blockchain, including being part of the team behind the original NFT registrar (a Guinness World Record holder), before focusing on institutional digital asset infrastructure.

As someone with a rare insider view of both Wall Street and Web3, we’re looking forward to his candid, practitioner’s perspective on the realities of tokenization.
