Started in 2017, Together We Dine (TWD) provides an opportunity for people to have conversations about a variety of meaningful and sometimes uncomfortable topics in a safe and non-threatening environment. We don't have conversations like these everyday, but Together We Dine helps to set the table and create space for all.
We are pleased to partner with the Latino Arts Project to offer another community conversation on the running exhibition "The Journey North: Hope, Labor and Culture" as part of our collaborative on-going effort to educate our communities, foster empathy among each other, and inspire dialogue about our roots and history.
This free exhibition reflects the physical and emotional reality of migration - a story of movement, purpose and resilence through art, stories and lived experiences. The ehxibit expands beyond why people leave to what they bring: hope that binds us in shared humanity, labor that builds and sustains the nation, and culture that enriches and redefines American life.
Participants will tour the gallery and view the amazing commissioned works of art to gain perspective on the subject of migrations. Experience how art continues to connect our stories as one.
Following the gallery tour, Project Unity facilitators will lead interactive small group discussions about the stories told through the artists. Please note that the conversations are intended to inspire and educate.
Join us for this cultural and eye-opening experience!
