Come dressed in your finest outfit while visiting ‘In the Forest of Arden’ exhibition and sit for a unique, period style photographic portrait by Jo Gane.
No digital trickery here!... Jo uses a period camera, congruent photographic materials and painted backdrops to make portraits that are a one-off experience and a family heirloom. Each portrait takes around 30 minutes to make, from coating the plate, posing for the camera (approx. 3-10 second exposure) developing and varnishing. (The tin-type process, also known as ‘wet plate collodion’ was commonly used by itinerant photographers in the UK and during the American civil war era from 1851- 1870).
Pop up studio on ground floor at rear of gallery, fully accessible.
NB: Sessions are for a Half Hour from 10.30am until 3.30pm. Please call for any queries. 07976 935413
