Join our necxt workshop looking at Ocean Charters, River Rights and the ideas of Nature in the Boardroom. What are the inspiring projects across the world? What is the role of art and culture in this work? What can we begin to look at here in Plymouth?
In this session we’ll be mapping some projects, looking at films and resources, as well as looking at different bodies of water. From icebergs to rivers to lakes to the sea and our location as a coastal city.
*There will be soup, bread and hot drinks as part of the session. Please let us know of any dietary requirements.*
This session is part of an on-going enquiry with Owen Griffiths as part of There is No New Water – Toolkit for Ocean Citizen Action. This 10-month project invites local people to explore what the ocean means to them, reflect on their role as coastal citizens, and co-create a community-led artwork/toolkit focused on ocean justice, care, and climate action.
All sessions are free and open to anyone based in Plymouth who is passionate about Ocean Civic Justice and happy to spend time in the East End.
Ocean Cultures is a two-year programme funded by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, aiming to establish a community-led model for ocean climate justice in Plymouth, UK.
