Good food has a way of bringing people together. That is the heart of the Waterside Supper Club, a new dining experience hosted at the Waterside Centre in Newbury, home of Berkshire Youth.
Set beside the canal, the Waterside Centre is one of Newbury’s quiet treasures. Many locals walk past without realising how special it is inside. Our supper clubs open the doors a little wider and invite people in to enjoy the warmth, the views and the sense of community this place was built for.
Each event features a seasonal menu designed and cooked by Sal, a South African-born home cook. Her mission is to get everyone to eat a more varied diet – and more vegetables every day. Sal’s food is vibrant, flavour-led and largely vegetarian, celebrating fresh ingredients and sustainable eating without fuss or formality. Sarah hosts the evening front-of-house, creating a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere where guests can settle in, meet new people or simply unwind with friends.

At its core, the Waterside Supper Club is about connection. It brings together people of all ages and backgrounds to share good food, good company and a few hours away from the demands of daily life. It also shines a light on the Waterside Centre’s wider mission to build community and create opportunities for young people.
Whether you come alone, with friends or as part of a group, you will be welcomed like family.
