Across the Middle East, women are being systematically pushed out of public life through law, custom, and state power. In this urgent conversation, Aislinn Mae and Paul Salahuddin Armstrong examine why countries such as Iran, Iraq, and Afghanistan are rolling back women's rights, and what this reveals about authority, religion, and control.

Aislinn Mae is an ex-Muslim who has spoken widely about how certain interpretations of Islamic texts can restrict women's rights, reinforce misogyny, and place women's lives under male authority.

Shaykh Paul Salahuddin Armstrong is a British Muslim leader, multifaith advocate, and public speaker committed to fostering understanding, unity, and positive change in society.

By registering for this event, you acknowledge and consent to the possibility of being photographed.
