The Sussex Portrait Artist of the Year Competition 2026

Welcome to the Sussex Portrait Artist of the Year Competition! 🎨

Nine talented finalists will go head-to-head in a thrilling 4-hour live painting challenge, capturing the essence of one of three celebrity sitters. Only one will be crowned Sussex Portrait Artist of the Year 2025!

Our esteemed judging panel will be:

Sara Reeve – Artist, tututor and Sky Arts presenter.
Matt Murphy – Renowned portrait artist
Kellie Miller – Founder of Kellie Miller art gallery

Our Celebrity Sitters are:

The Mayor of Worthing, Borough Councillor - Cathy Glynn-Davies

Bass guitarist with folk-rock band, Levellers , and Artist- Jeremy Cunningham

Join us for a day of creativity, inspiration, and friendly competition!

As well as the live painting we will have interviews throughout the day by our guest present, Gary Mansfield - host of the Ministry of Arts Podcast.

All funds go towards supporting Chichester Creative Art Network to bring more events like this to Sussex.
