Ambassador Dr. Namira Negm is the first Director of the African Migration Observatory and Honorary President of the African Society for International Law. A former Ambassador of Egypt to Rwanda and Legal Advisor to Egypt’s Mission to the UN in New York, she was the first female Legal Counsel of the African Union and the first—and only—African/Arab/Muslim/Egyptian woman to address both the ICJ and the ICC. Dr. Negm has negotiated numerous international and African multilateral legal instruments and is a 2023 Justitia Award Laureate for International Leadership and Lifetime Achievement. She holds a PhD in Public International Law from the University of London and an LLM from King’s College London.
