A fun "girl-talk" gathering to educate middle school girls about the social media world.

THE ROAD TO SOCIAL MEDIA: For Girls in 5th-9th Grade + Moms + Friends

Join us for a fun evening where we'll explore the ins and outs of social media! Whether your daughter is just beginning or a few years away from her first account, this night is the perfect opportunity to cast a vision for the role she wants social media to play in her life when the time comes.

You'll hear from:

  • Krista Boan, cofounder of Screen Sanity +Road to Social will unpack the challenges and traps today's women are facing in the social media world, and why it's okay to wait for your first account. Krista's work has been featured in Christianity Today, Wall Street Journal, NBC with Diane Sawyer, and New York Times.
  • A thoughtful panel of college women will share what they have learned about the impact of social media use in their own lives.

You'll walk away with:

  • An understanding of specific ways social media can interfere with your mental and emotional health
  • A clear set of guideposts to guard your heart and mind as you prepare for your social media years
  • A draft of your personal social media “manifesto” to help you become a woman of digital integrity
  • Please note: will NOT be discussing internet safety and filtering solutions, but they are super important! Visit screensanity.org to learn more.

A couple more things:

  • Seats are limited and sell out quickly--so register today! $10/person. (Scholarships are available. Email Krista at info@kristaboan.com for more info.)
  • All moms, mentors, and friends of middle schoolers are welcome.
  • Hot cocoa + cookie bar provided by 7-Brew + Blue Chip Cookies!
  • Stick around for a Meet + Greet after the session.
  • A photographer might be on hand to capture the fun. By registering, you give consent for you and your daughter's image to be used in promotions for future mother-daughter events.

Special thanks to Colonial Presbyterian Church for hosting! And special thanks to our sponsors: 7-Brew, Blue Chip Cookies, and Pops Baloons by Delaney.
