The Lion's Roar: Foundation Weekend (in person and online)

The Longchen Foundation invites you to participate in the Lion’s Roar programme, which is an introduction to Buddhist meditation in the Mahayana Maha Ati tradition of Rigdzin Shikpo.

The Lion’s Roar is suitable for both total beginners and experienced meditators, for those of any tradition or none. The training is centred on the practice of formless meditation and working with the simplicity of our experience.

Our everyday world is so familiar and seemingly mundane that we easily take it all for granted. By learning to relate to experience in a simple and direct way we can begin to discover something about what we truly are and develop the confidence to face whatever arises.

This Foundation weekend can be taken on its own as an introduction to meditation, but also forms the basis of a three year programme of training that offers a journey into the heart of awareness itself. The only requirement is an open mind and a willingness to look directly at oneʼs own experience in a search for truth.

During the course the transmission of the formless meditation instruction is given.
