The Last Starborn Seer - Venetia Constantine and A. Y. Chao

Venetia Constantine read English at King’s College, Cambridge and holds a PhD in Art History from the Courtauld Institute. She paused a cherished career in the artworld to pursue her dreams of becoming an author, swapping galleries for an enchanted windmill, where she now writes full-time. Venetia lives in London with her husband and their three children.

Venetia will be joined in conversation by Ay Chao, author of Shanghai Immortal.

Alice is a Chinese Canadian author of fantasy. She's fascinated by the interplay between self-perceived versus imposed identity and how this intersects with belonging and enjoys exploring these spaces in her stories. A recovering lawyer and xiaolongbao enthusiast, she knits to soothe anxiety and has a deep abiding love for Hobonichi planners and kawaii planner stickers. She is grateful for the support of the Canada Council for the Arts. Alice's new book Paris Celestial is released on the 26th March.
