The Freedom of Painting with Acrylics

Immerse yourself in the freedom of painting with water-soluble acrylics in this hands-on skills class led by award-winning artist Perla Sofia Gonzalez, a Signature Member of the Miami Watercolor Society.Participants will learn essential techniques including how to properly prime surfaces, transfer images, apply basic composition rules, use masking to protect areas of the artwork, and confidently select a cohesive color palette. The class will also explore pattern creation, texture, and layering techniques to build dynamic and unique backgrounds.

Students will learn how to identify a light source, create depth through highlights and shadows, establish a strong focal point, and bring their artwork to life through expressive brushwork. Guided step-by-step, participants will paint a vibrant rooster composition while gaining skills they can apply to future acrylic projects.
