Join us on MLK Day, January 19th, 2026 for the opening reception of a collaborative art exhibition at the Inner-City Muslim Action Network.

Join us on MLK Day, January 19th, 2026 for the opening reception of a collaborative art exhibition centered on Dr. King’s call to confront "The Fierce Urgency of Now." Marking the 60th anniversary of the Chicago Freedom Movement March in Marquette Park, this exhibition brings together artists whose work engages ideas of justice and collective responsibility in a time of ongoing social and political struggle.

Featuring work by Sonja Henderson, Kayla Mahaffey, Darius Dennis, Max Sansing, Shirien Damra, and Tubs Illa, the exhibition is curated in collaboration with Janell Nelson of the Englewood Arts Collective. The artists draw from personal, historical, and spiritual traditions to explore how intergenerational movements for liberation continue to shape the present moment.

The opening reception will take place from 4-7PM and will include a panel conversation with select participating artists, along with additional guest speakers to be announced.

All are welcome.
