Join The Candid Book Club at Kirkdale Bookshop for an evening discussing Sareeta Domingo's final novel as we celebrate her life and words.

Join The Candid Book Club at Kirkdale Bookshop for an evening in which we discuss Sareeta Domingo's final novel before she passed away, Possibility.

Sareeta Domingo passed away in September 2025. She was an author and publisher, and a passionate champion for diverse voices. As an author, her novels include The Nearness of You (Piatkus, 2016), If I Don’t Have You (Jacaranda, 2020), and most recently, Possibility (Renegade, 2025). She was the creator, editor and contributing writer of Who’s Loving You? (Trapeze, 2021), a celebration of love written by women of colour. She also published books for young adults with Hachette Children’s Books, numerous erotic short stories with Pavilion Books and her journalism was featured in publications including Black Ballad, gal-dem, and Stylist.

This special event will both be celebrating Sareeta's words and life, as well as delving into her final novel Possibility, the Candid way!

We encourage attendees to read the book beforehand to allow for an open discussion on the night.

100% of the ticket sales will go to Sareeta's preferred charity Doctors Without Borders/ Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF).

What's the thing you'd change about your life right now if you could just click your fingers?

When Anika Lapo wakes up in hospital on her thirtieth birthday, it's not dying she's afraid of: her real fear is how much of her life she has wasted. After a successful operation, she vows not to lose another second.

Every night she writes in her diary about the person she wants to be and, the next day, her words come true. How she's going to land her dream job as a radio producer, DJ to a crowd instead of her bedroom - and that she'll finally, blissfully connect with breakfast show host Cam Aseidu, the guy with the sexy smirk and jet-black eyes she's lusted after from afar...

Thanks to her diary manifestations, Anika is finally living up to her potential. But what if she's trying so hard to be in control that she loses herself along the way? What if, after everything, she was enough all along?

A devastatingly romantic, breathlessly sexy and completely unputdownable novel about what it means to truly love. Perfect for fans of The List and Such a Fun Age.
