Enjoy a wide range of music composed for flute and guitar performed entirely from memory by Chrissie Macgregor and Andy Jackson.

Chrissie Macgregor and Andy Jackson are The Auckland Duo. They play a wide range of music from around the world written especially for flute and guitar, performing it entirely from memory.

This could be popular music from Brazil, folk songs from Macedonia, or traditional Irish tunes reimagined for alto flute and guitar. Picture couples dancing the tango in Argentina, or flamenco in southern Spain, as you listen to these beautiful melodies and exciting rhythms.

The programme will include pieces by Celso Machado, Miroslav Tadić (for alto flute), Turlough O’Carolan and Jacques Ibert, as well as Claudia Montero’s Suite de los Buenos Aires and ‘Café 1930’ from Astor Piazzolla’s Histoire du Tango.

Join The Auckland Duo for an engaging and informal performance of this captivating and refreshingly different music.

Chrissie Macgregor holds Associate and Licentiate diplomas in flute performance with Trinity College London. She plays flute and piccolo in orchestras and chamber groups across North-East England. She formed The Auckland Duo with Andy in 2017.

Andy Jackson studied the sitar in India and the guitar in Portugal. He is a composer and conductor, and his pieces for classical guitar are played all over the world.
