The Art Cart: Stencil Tote Bags (12 – 16 yrs old)

This event is for Youth Club Members between the ages of 12-16 years old. 

WHAT?

In this hands-on workshop, participants will design and personalize their own tote bags using acrylic paint and stencils. Pre-made stencils will be available, with some blank stencils for participants to create their own floral designs.  

A flower chart will be provided to encourage deeper reflection on the symbolic meanings behind each flower. Through the process of painting, participants are encouraged to practice mindfulness by slowing down and enjoying the present moment, using the activity to relieve stress and express their creativity. This workshop aims to show how art can be a calming outlet for self-expression and support mental wellbeing. 

This workshop allows participants to:  

• Express their thoughts, emotions and individuality through various art forms, helping them build confidence and to find their unique voice 
• Explore their imagination, experiment with different styles and materials while bringing their ideas to life in a fun and supportive space 
• Relax and destress after examinations while also developing soft skills such as problem-solving, adaptability and patience

We are Wafi, Jolie, and Hui Xin, students from Temasek Polytechnic who are passionate about promoting well-being through creative craft activities. Our goal is to create a fun and relaxing space where people can slow down, express themselves, and experience the benefits of being present in the moment.
