We’re dropping thousands of plastic Easter eggs from a helicopter...yup, you heard that right – a HELICOPTER! Pre-register your children to participate in one of SIX age-specific egg hunts with over 20,000 eggs.
The Great Helicopter Egg Drop is an Easter Egg Hunt open to the first 1,200 pre-registered children in our community between the ages of 1-12. There will be many golden eggs with GREAT PRIZES. If your child would like to participate in the egg drop they can pre-register on Eventbrite for $22, which includes a specific egg drop and unlimited use of the bounce area. Petting zoo is not included this year, but available for a minimal price. You must pre register your child on Eventbrite to participate in an egg drop time. Egg drop tickets will not be available at the door, and tend to sell out quick!
VIP TICKETS (2 sessions to choose from! 11:30am OR 3:15pm)
Be a VIP and skip the lines, secure a VIP parking spot near the field (one parking spot per family), and join a special Egg Drop with a limited number of kids, more eggs to collect and UPGRADED PRIZES! Registration is full? What do I do? We feel your pain! Because this is a safe event put on by Beaufort Academy and staffed by volunteers, we can only accommodate a limited number of children (1,200). For safety purposes we have to stick to this number.
What if there is bad weather?
In the event the helicopter cannot fly due to high winds or inclement weather, the event will be cancelled. The safety of our attendees is our first priority and an email will be sent to all registered families with any cancellations. Unfortunately, refunds are not unavailable if the event is cancelled. The event committee plans this event all year and costs are still involved, and we will not cancel the event unless the weather is unbearable. Thank you for understanding our policy. Continue to check the Egg Drop Facebook page for updates.
I have younger kids; will they be run over by older kids? We have split the Easter Egg hunt into FIVE age-appropriate zones, and included a time especially for children with special needs:
EGG DROP TIMES
Each age group will be separated from the other age groups so younger children will be just fine.
If my child has a special need or is handicapped, can they still participate in a safe, fun way? Yes! No matter what age, please register for the 12:15pm egg drop. We hope to give all children a great experience, so please be courteous and select this ticket type if it pertains to your family. If your child with special needs is between the ages of 1 -12, register for the YELLOW egg drop at 12:15pm. Parents WILL be allowed on the field for this drop, but we ask parents to be mindful while on the field.
Are parents/guardians allowed to gather eggs with their children? Only for the YELLOW Age 1-3 drop. All other drops will not be allowed. Parents will NOT be allowed on the field for drops ages 3-12. Please do not register your child if they cannot go on the field on their own. We will have plenty of student volunteers who can help the children make sure they get eggs in their bag. This will also ensure over-zealous parents don’t grab all the eggs and ruin the event for other children. Parents from the other age groups will be able to watch and encourage their children from the boundary lines, just a few feet from the actual egg hunt field. Our amazing Egg Drop Volunteers will ensure your children stay safe and have fun during their hunt.
What if I have children in different age groups? How do I watch them all? Egg drop sessions are rather quick. We will start the next drop immediately after one ends, which allows you to keep your children close during and in-between drops.
What if my child doesn’t get a chance to put eggs in their basket? Our awesome volunteer staff will have extra eggs handy this year, to make sure all participants go home with eggs in their basket!
What is in the Eggs? Candy and OVER 200 PRIZES! Golden Eggs will have Chick-Fil-A, Monkey's Uncle, Kilwins, Cookies by Charlotte, Beaufort Candy Shoppe gift certificates, toys, scooters, PLUS MORE ADDED UNTIL EVENT DAY! If you find the GOLDEN EGGS, they have a ticket for great prizes! If you find a ticket in your golden egg, you must redeem at check-out before departure to receive your prize or gift certificate. (FUN prizes don’t always fit in the plastic eggs!)
