The initiation of Sitatapatra in the afternoon is open to those who have taken Refuge in the Buddhist path. There is an opportunity for newcomers to take Refuge. The afternoon session starts at 2.30 and ends approx 4.30. Sitatapatra is a female protective deity whose power originated from the crown protuberance (ushnisha) of Buddha Shakyamuni, symbolized by her white parasol. She is associated with protection from calamities, diseases, and malignant beings.
