Playwright Andrea Squires has long had a fascination with the revolutionary war. Now she presents us with a staged reading of her full-length play-Thomas Wall's Trunk- inspired by the true story of Thomas Wall, a British actor who established the first permanent theatre company in Baltimore in 1771. It is thrilling (and humorous) story about how his family fight for their survival during the Revolutionay War-a time when theatrical performances were mostly banned. Be prepared for a musical tale of ghosts, sword-fights, death and love. Through it all runs a relentless devotion and appreciation for the miracle of theatre.
This is a staged reading that will be followed by a talk-back with the playwright and the director. This is your opportunity to ask questions about the play and what inspired it.
