Local authors explore the joys and pitfalls of writing about ethnicity in their own work, sharing valuable how-to tips and what to avoid.

T’Articulation’s Writing Ethnicity – a Creative Practices’ event.
The Eldon Building: 7.00 – 9.00 pm

A panel event where established writers, including lecturers Tom Sykes, Amanda Garrie, Sudip Sen and select guest speakers, will talk about how they present ethnicity within their work and/or avoid cultural appropriation when writing about other cultures. The audience will be invited to participate in relevant, short, explorative writing tasks, and will have 'homework' to take away to help navigate writing in these often tricky areas. FREE.

Whilst there is no charge to attend these events, we do have overheads, so we are glad of any donations. These can be made via ticket, or we usually have an exit bucket at events for any change you may wish to give, but there is no obligation or pressure to do so.
