Local academics share how they approach writing about mental health in their fiction/non-fiction work, along with useful workshop exercises.

Thursday 5th March
T’Articulation’s Write Mind: Penning Mental Health onto the Page.
The Eldon Building: 7.00 – 9.00 pm

An 'in tandem' event where a panel comprising: Amanda Garrie, whose longer fiction uses Jungian archetypes and folkloric tropes in the exposition of characters; Tom Sykes, whose upcoming memoir, The Years of Travelling Anxiously, explores how writing about one's anxieties, depression and fears, can be therapeutic; Judy Waite whose teen fiction often has a focus on neuro-atypical characters that are challenged by, or a challenge to society. The event will include an immersive writing workshop, led by Judy – an expert in delivering such experiences. All panel members are academic lecturers in Creative Writing. FREE*
