To celebrate International Women's Day, join us for a talk about women and the co-operative movement at the Rochdale Pioneers Museum.

Join us for a special talk all about women in the co-operative movement. From the women involved in the early days of the modern movement, the work of the Co-operative Women's Guild and their banners, as well as the women who are part of the movement today, we'll explore how women have shaped co-operatism.

On the day, you'll hear a talk from our expert museum team, plus have the chance to see one of the banners in our collection. You'll also get to enjoy complimentary coffee and cake.

Tickets are £10 per person (plus Eventbrite fees) and include everything mentioned above, plus museum entry for 12 months following the event (this usually costs £7).

This talk is aimed at adults or older teenagers. However, if you have younger children you'd like to bring with you to this talk, we can offer free tickets to children on a case-by-case basis, please get in touch with us at museum@heritagetrust.coop to discuss.

Afterwards, there will be a free optional craft activity for all ages in our learning loft until 3:30pm.

This offer is part of the National Lottery Heritage Fund's 'Open Week' from the 7th to 15th of March as a way to say 'thank you' to National Lottery Players. Our museum has received funding in the past to renovate the building in 2012, to support working with young people and also to help preserve documents in our archive.

If you are visiting Rochdale for the day, you can also visit our partners in Rochdale Local Studies Centre on Norman Road (OL11 4HS) between 10:00 to 12:00 and 13:00 to 15:00 as a free drop in to find out more about houses, streets and neighbourhoods in the town. The centre is a 13 minute walk from the museum.
