Swansea Food Partnership, in collaboration with Flynn’s Deli, is bringing together local food and hospitality businesses for an early stage

Swansea Food Partnership, in collaboration with Flynn’s Deli, is bringing together local food and hospitality businesses for an early‑stage discussion exploring the potential development of a Swansea citywide Food Symposium ( A city wide celebration of food and culture)

Building on previous partnership work, feasibility studies, and engagement with local independent operators, this session will serve as a space to reconnect with contributors, sense‑check appetite, and understand whether a citywide food gathering is something the sector genuinely wants and would benefit from.

This is a focused, small‑group session designed to gather honest insight, spark ideas, and understand where leadership for such an event should sit -business-led, council-supported, or something more collaborative.

Purpose of the Session

Over 90 minutes, we’ll explore a series of early‑stage questions, including:

  • Is there interest from local food, drink and hospitality businesses in a Swansea Food Symposium?
  • What could a Swansea food symposium look like, its purpose, format, or scale?
  • Who are the right partners or stakeholders to involve?
  • What role could organisations like Swansea Council, Tourism, Special Events, the wider business community, or Swansea University play?
  • Are there businesses willing to help shape, lead, or champion the concept?

A short structured questionnaire will be provided on the day to help gather feedback consistently.

The aim is to leave with a clearer understanding of viability, sector appetite, and what realistic next steps might look like.

Why Attend?

This session is ideal for:

  • Independent restaurants, cafés, delis, producers, and hospitality businesses
  • Food sector leaders interested in collaboration and citywide promotion
  • Businesses passionate about establishing Swansea as a thriving local food city

Your insight will help shape whether this concept progresses and if so, how.

Venue & Capacity

The session will take place at Flynn’s Deli (venue final confirmation pending).
To keep the discussion focused and productive, attendance is capped at 15 businesses.
