Run by Annalisa Dunn: designer and consultant for luxury fashion, Co Founder of bio material plastic alternative Bequin™ , Co Founder of The Stitch Archive, and Associate Lecturer in Textiles at UAL.


This workshop is aimed at helping students and designers who are interested in sustainability to gain a deeper understanding of sustainable textiles and material design.


Topics covered:

The language of sustainability

What does it mean to design for planet – fibres, waste, design methods, science.

How do supply chains impact sustainability?

Experiences of taking new sustainable materials to market

Innovative sustainable companies entering the market


Learning outcomes:

Understand the challenges, the opportunities and the new roles of the growing sustainable textiles market.

Make a plan of how those opportunities can relate to your own personal work and practise.

Study and photograph key traditional textiles and sustainable textiles including biomaterials inside The Stitch Archive
