Sunrise Hike to Scotland

Sign up to hike under a blanket of stars and reach the summit of Windy Gyle, one of the most breathtaking viewpoints in the North East of England, just in time for sunrise. Guided by experienced professionals, you’ll take on this inspiring challenge alongside fellow walkers as the first light of day breaks across the Border hills.

This 10-mile circular route follows the beautiful Border Ridge, crossing from England into Scotland before ascending to the summit. As dawn arrives, you’ll be rewarded with sweeping views across the Cheviots and beyond - a truly magical sunrise moment that few get to experience.

This is a bucket-list worthy challenge, combining physical effort, fresh air and a real sense of achievement. After taking in the sunrise at the peak, we’ll begin our descent, enjoying the landscape in daylight as we make our way back to the start point.

By taking part, you’ll also be helping to raise vital funds for Shelter, by fundraising as much as you can to support people facing homelessness or unsafe housing. In return, you’ll be fully supported with experienced guides, a detailed kit list, fundraising support, and a free Shelter t-shirt and bobble hat.
