18:00 – 21:30
Cramer St Gallery
13 Cramer Street, Marylebone, London
Yaiza Hernández Escobar (Ethereal Maison)
The Art Club Collective
This life-drawing evening takes place within Leevar Spies’ exhibition, drawing directly from his grounded, material-led practice. Rooted in ideas of earth, labour, repetition, and bodily presence, the exhibition sets the tone for a slow, tactile and attentive gathering.
Surrounded by Spies’ works, the gallery becomes a shared studio. Drawing, ceramics and earthy set elements respond to themes of grounding, weight, ritual and connection to land and body. Participants are invited to draw not only what they see, but what they feel posture, tension, breath and gravity.
This event emerges from the world of Leevar Spies’ practice a practice anchored in the body and in material persistence. His paintings and gestures speak of care, repetition and working slowly with what is already present.
Within this context, life drawing becomes less about representation and more about attention. The act of drawing is approached as a physical and meditative process: hand meeting paper, weight settling into the body, time stretching. Short poses open the hand; longer poses allow the body to slow down.
Ceramic elements and sculptural objects are placed throughout the space as grounding points quiet anchors that echo the exhibition’s relationship to land, labour and material memory. The gallery becomes a space that feels held rather than staged.
Guided by The Art Club Collective and Ethereal Maison, this session invites gentle observation and collective presence, allowing drawing to function as a way of listening rather than capturing.
