Still Life in Oils: Colour, Form & Composition [5 Week Course]

Discover the versatility of oil painting with Sandra, founder of The Bowery and an experienced art educator. This workshop invites you to translate the beauty of seasonal botanicals into your own expressive style.

We begin the journey by experimenting with pencil and oil pastel on paper, using mark-making and sketching to deconstruct a still life into its essential shapes. You will learn to curate a personal colour palette while mastering the nuances of tonal depth and spatial harmony.

The course progresses from these initial studies into refined "working paintings" before moving onto a larger-scale canvas. Throughout the process, we will look to the history of still-life masters for inspiration, helping you find and develop your own unique artistic voice.

Essentials: We provide all paper and paint. Please bring along a canvas or board for your final, more considered piece.

We are able to provide credit / transfer onto another course or workshop if there is two or more weeks’ notice.

Within a two-week period, under no circumstances can we transfer you onto another event. We have incurred material costs & committed numbers to the tutor.
