With 3 sold out shows in the bag, we’re up to it again - The “gags for mags team” are re-uniting for a charity fund raiser. We PROMISE you an evening of laughter with our 10 local comics.
About the comics:
In January 2025 a group of aspiring comedians keen to give stand-up comedy a try responded to a dodgy looking Facebook ad and gathered in the back room of the St. Johns Yard pub.
Under the tutelage of local stand-ups Mike Jubb and his sister Mags, the group, from all over Kent and ranging in age from mid twenties to late sixties, learnt the basics of comedy, then they wrote and rehearsed their shows.
On Thursday 20th March 2025 the rag-tag gang gave their performances to a packed out crowd at the Grey Lady in Tunbridge Wells. With a wide range of styles, from puns to monologues and covering a range of subjects from dogs to poor shower habits, the night was a roaring success!
Our next gig was on 2nd July for TW Forum for the NSPCC. After selling this out in 1 week, the TW Forum team gave us another night - and that sold- out too!
So we’re up to it again - please join us for a brilliant night out in support of an excellent local charity.
About The Pickering Cancer Drop-In Centre Charity:
Most people are affected by cancer in some way during their lives and many find this a traumatic and lonely experience. The charity aims to help and support anyone going through the emotion of cancer, from diagnosis onwards, be they patients, their family, friends or carers. They have a drop-in Centre in Tunbridge Wells and, being entirely run by volunteers and self-funded, are reliant on donations. Every penny given goes towards the services they offer..
