Spring is here, and Stomping Ground is rolling out a brand new workshop series to help you spring forward as an improviser and performer!
Each week, one of our instructors will dig into a topic or skill of their choosing! Students will refresh their improvisational toolbelt and add new tools to make their scenes both memorable and engaging for an audience. This class is recommended for students with some improv experience. The prerequisite for these workshops is Level Three Improv at Stomping Ground or the equivalent at another training center with permission from the Training Center Director.
This week's topic is Leaning Into Play in Your Performance
Often performers can get in their head about mechanics that they forget the most important part of improv is play! This week’s Spring Forward drop-in class will help performers embrace play in their performance to create and heighten scenes that are enjoyable for both them and the audience! Students will practice leaning into playful and comedic choices, learning how to listen to cues from the audience and their scene partners to lean into playful moments that build momentum in their scenes!
