
Yosi Marshall will be performing well-known works by J S Bach, Haydn, Brahms, Ravel and songs from rock legend, David Bowie.
He will be playing Bach's English Suite no. 2 in A Minor, Haydn piano sonata no. 32 in B minor, Brahms 4 piano pieces opus 119 , Ravel's beautiful masterpiece : Jeux d'eau followed Sonatine. He will also be providing a pianistic interpretation of songs by David Bowie.
Yosi performed at St Michael's recently, playing Bach, Mozart, Chopin, Kabalevsky, Debussy and Chick Corea pieces. He also has performed Scarlatti, Beethoven sonatas, Sibelius's Finlandia Suite, ,Satie and Einaudi.
He played J S Bach's Goldberg Variations at the end of last year which was very successful. He also performed there in April 2024 as part of the monthly classical music programme as well as St Anne's Church, Lewes in the summer. He has played at Cafe Yukari countless times, and his repertoire has included the last three Beethoven Sonatas, a concert of music from the Impressionist period including Debussy and Ravel. He made his Lewes debut last February with a concert at Trinity St John sub Castro Church. Last year, he played at Brighton Unitarian Church as part of the Brighton Fringe, as well as a benefit concert for Ukrainian refugees, playing a programme of Ukrainian and Russian composers.
He has given concerts at Burgh House, Lauderdale House and Leighton House in London, and performed recitals in City of London churches, such as St Mary Le-Bow, St Mary At-Hill and St Martin within Ludgate. He has also performed Beethoven Concerto no. 3 and Mozart Concerto no. 21 in D minor with the London Charity Orchestra.
Yosi has played music to accompany silent cinema at Cafe Yukari, Ealing Classic Cinema, the OSO Arts in Barnes and other educational establishments. He accompanied music to The Temptress, Metropolis and Modern Times in the autumn last year at the All Saints Centre in Lewes as too. He also came back to play Nosferatu at the Brighton Unitarian Church for Halloween. He was back at the Brighton Unitarian Church last Halloween with music to accompany the silent horror film, the Cabinet of Dr Caligari, and more recently, he accompanied music to the classic silent 1923 film The Hunchback of Notre Dame at Trinity Church St John's Sub Castro in Lewes.He recently accompanied music to the 1925 classic version of Ben Hur at the All Saints Centre.
With his band Momentum, he plays saxophone/flute and clarinet regularly at the Bull's Head in Barnes and the Pheasantry Pizza Express in Chelsea and Holborn. They performed at the London Jazz Festival last November at George IV in Chiswick, London to critical acclaim. They also made their debut this summer at the Con Club in Lewes last June. Momentum are about to record their 4th album in the spring. He was also back at the Con Club with the Lucharian Duo, eclectic Latin/Indo-Celtic vibes with percussionist last November.
