The Why

This event is part of larger tour of UK prisons and recovery settings. The aim is to at raise awerness of addiction, and to inspire hope. All profits on the night will go to a local Charity, Minds of Recovery , based on the estate Darren grew up in. .

The Who

Darren Howie, better known by his stage names Gallus Patter and Privy Poet, is a published poet, and an award-winning voice from the margins.

Now working in the criminal justice sector, Darren carries a rare gift — to capture life on the street, give it a wee tilt of hope, and spin humour out of pain. Pushing creative writing to its sharpest edge, running workshops for men in recovery and in criminal justice settings. Currently gathering his deepest thoughts and grit into his first solo book.
