Very very excited to bring MR SCRUFF to our next Day Party. Epic!

Manchester’s Andy Carthy, aka Mr. Scruff, started DJing and producing at 12 in 1984, inspired by two-tone, reggae, electro, hip-hop, boogie, early house & ‘80s megamixes.
After a decade of DIY cassette mixes, he dropped his first 12” in 1994, and in 1999 released his 2nd album Keep It Unreal on Ninja Tune – sparking a Manchester residency of the same name that still runs today.

Scruff’s sets weave soul, funk, gospel, disco, jazz, reggae, house, techno, hip-hop, afrobeat & more – always playful, high-quality, and meticulously sound-checked. He loves long sets, early gigs, and often plays with MC Kwasi, a sound engineer, and sometimes visuals for an immersive experience.

A patron of the Music Venue Trust and champion of grassroots venues, he supports adding a £1 LiveLine levy to UK headline shows – a hit on his 2025 Miniature tour.
