TRIP DESCRIPTION:
Be creative on Ossabaw Island. Paint, draw, make photographs, write, play your musical instruments, or experience free range creativity on Ossabaw Island. This trip is organized and hosted by the Ossabaw Island Foundation's Public Use and Education Program.
Date: Thursday, February 19, 2026 – Sunday, February 22, 2026
Depart for Ossabaw Island, 3:00 pm. (departure time may be adjusted due to tides)
Depart Ossabaw Island 11:00 am Sunday (arrive on the mainland about 11:45am)
Overview: This is a "no agenda" time for creativity, writing, drawing, painting, image making time on Ossabaw Island.
Description of the weekend:
• Thursday afternoon, arrive on Ossabaw, settle in to your accommodations. After dinner, some introductions and discussion about what lies ahead for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Friday and Saturday: Do your own creative work. Island staff will transport you in groups to various sites on the island (beach, estuary, maritime forest, Middle Place plantation site, etc.). This will be planned on Friday night and Saturday night, depending on the desires of the group. Can include sunset and/or sunrise excursions. Or, embark on foot on your own for various North End points of interest for creative inspiration. You can even set up in the building if that's your preference.
Sunday, Participants pack up and depart late morning.
Fees include:
• Round trip transportation from the mainland to Ossabaw Island
• Eight meals: Thursday dinner, Friday and Saturday breakfast/lunch/dinner, Sunday breakfast . Accommodations: choose from The Boarding House, the Club House, or BYO-tent camping. Pricing reflects housing differences only. See housing descriptions below.
Registrants will receive a detailed email outlining departure location and time, what to bring, and more.
This trip is best suited for adults and for children age 12 and over. Minors must be accompanied by supervising adult.

The Boarding House is located on Ossabaw Island’s north end and is a restored 1918 Craftsman bungalow. The Boarding House offers comfortable semi-private accommodations. Accommodations are in semi-private rooms with shared bathrooms. Single room (no roommate) available for additional fee.
Camp on Ossabaw in your own tent near the Boarding House & Club House, with full access to rest rooms/showers.
The shared accommodations and bathrooms in the dormitory-style Club House on Ossabaw Island. Pillow, sheets & towels, and blanket provided.
