A guided, trauma-informed journaling and poetry workshop created to support creative expression, reflection, and connection.

Soil: A Journaling & Poetry Workshop

Participants will be offered a series of gentle writing prompts and may choose to respond through poetry or journaling—there’s no right or wrong way to write.

The workshop provides a supportive environment where you’re encouraged to explore your thoughts and emotions at your own pace. We’ll close with optional time for reflection, sharing written pieces, and group discussion.

No prior writing experience is necessary—just bring curiosity and an open mind.

Each participant will receive:

  • A printed mini workbook to support the workshop and continued reflection beyond the session
  • A curated goodie bag with small, intentional items to support rest, reflection, and care after the workshop
  • and one participant will have the chance to win the Karst x Alex Elle Spot Joy Planner through a simple, interactive raffle during the workshop. Participation is optional, and the activity will be facilitated in a light, low-pressure way.

About Giovonni:
Giovonni is a licensed clinical social worker and creative facilitator who turned her own journey from silence to song into a practice of healing spaces for others. As a multicultural lesbian, Giovonni is dedicated to creating safe and affirming spaces for healing within communities of color and LGBTQ+ individuals. She is a writer, poet, and speaker who finds joy in providing a sacred space that allows adults to connect, heal, and regulate their emotional and nervous system.

As a survivor who found her voice through writing and music, she understands what it means to carry what can't be spoken. Now, she curates trauma-informed workshops where marginalized communities can process grief, reclaim joy, and build authentic connection.

She believes creative expression isn't a luxury. It's survival. And healing happens in community, not isolation.
