From the award winning and internationally acclaimed director Jafar Panahi, comes another searing examination of Iran’s lasting authoritarian regime that examines if retribution is worth the pain it often brings to the surface.

Vahid, an Iranian auto mechanic, meets a man who he believes to be his former torturer after he enters his shop one night. Vahid is determined to enact revenge, but faces a dilemma when he is unable to properly place the man as who he thinks he is.

What ensues is an unravelling web of complicity and past trauma as he recruits previous fellow prisoners of the Iranian authorities to help validate the man’s identity as the notoriously sadistic torturer.

Filmed secretly in Iran due to Panahi’s ban from making films in his home country, this deeply personal and politically fraught drama has won countless awards this year, including the Palme d’Or at Cannes. It is a front runner for this year’s Golden Globes and Oscars, and is one you don’t want to miss!
