
The Skills Bootcamp in EV Maintenance will equip adult learners, aged 19 and over, to develop the technical expertise required to maintain Electric Vehicles (EVs) safely and effectively.
Delivered at the Truro Campus, this Level 3 programme has been designed to upskill existing Automotive Technicians, Mechanics and Vehicle Service Professionals, or those with vehicle fleets transitioning to electric or hybrid models, to upskill and transition smoothly into the era of electric mobility.
Course Outline:
The Skills Bootcamp in EV Maintenance is a nine-week programme designed to upskill individuals with existing professional or educational expertise within the Automotive sector, or those responsible for vehicle fleets within organisations transitioning to electric and hybrid technology, with the skills needed to service and maintain these vehicles.
Learners will explore EV technology, including high-voltage systems and charging infrastructure, alongside the safety protocols required when handling and repairing EV components.
The Skills Bootcamp is underpinned by the IMI Level 3 Award in Electric/ Hybrid Vehicle System Repair and Replacement that learners will complete at the conclusion of the course that will enable them to take on additional responsibilities to safely diagnose, repair and maintain Electric and Hybrid vehicles in line with industry regulations.
The course combines classroom-based theory with practical workshop sessions in specialist automotive facilities at Truro Campus.

Cost –
Thanks to funding from the Department for Education, there is no charge for individuals looking to re-train or upskill. SME employers will only need to pay 10% of the course fee if they enrol a member of staff (£236), whilst large organisations will be asked to contribute 30% (£707).
