Afternoon Workshop for Beginners and Improving Scottish Country Dancers

Leeds Branch would like to invite you to an afternoon workshop followed by a Nice and Easy Scottish Country Dance aimed at both beginners and improving dancers. You do not need a partner, little experience is required, just a pair of soft soled shoes.

Children 12 years and older are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult. The workshop will cover basic techniques, formations and some of the dances that will be on the evening programme. However, you can choose to come just to the workshop, or to the evening dance or both.

Both events will be held to live music and will be taught by Kathryn Slater who learned to dance as a child and gained her RSCDS Teacher’s Certificate in 1993. She has danced at, organised and led events all over the UK and Europe since the late 1980s.

2.00pm - 4.30pm Workshop (drinks provided for mid-session break)
4.30pm - 7.00pm Picnic tea
Please bring your own food. Drinks will be provided. (There is a mini-supermarket shop attached to the garage next door to the hall.)
